Dolores is the newest addition the the Tiny Oak Jewelry staff. She doesn’t talk much and she’s not great at parties, but we love the subtle sophistication she brings, and her amazing ability to show off our earrings and chokers.
Dolores is a model employee who never complains. She was recently subjected to being splashed with water from a leaky roof for an entire night, and asked only for a light cleaning with a mild detergent and a soft cloth.
“Dolores” is an old-fashioned and under-used name that should really make more of a comeback, though some may take umbrage to that suggestion. It’s from a Latin word meaning “sorrows,” which could explain its lack of popularity. We love it for its connection to the classic Big Band song and, of course, for Dolores’s namesake. IYKYK.
How I love the kisses of Dolores.
(Oh I love her)
Aye aye aye! Dolores.
Not Marie or Emily or Doris.
(None of them but)
Only my Dolores.
From a balcony above me
She whispers love me and throws a rose.
Ah but she is twice as lovely
As the rose she throws!
I would die to be with my Dolores.
(To be near her)
Aye aye aye! Dolores.
I was made to serenade Dolores
(Serenade her)
Chorus after chorus!
Just imagine eyes like moon rise,
A voice like music, lips like wine.
What a break if I could make Dolores
Mine all mine.
I would die to be with my Dolores.
(To be near her)
Aye aye aye! Dolores.
I was made to serenade Dolores
(Serenade her)
Chorus after chorus!
Just imagine eyes like moon rise,
Voice like music, lips like wine!
What a break if I could make Dolores
Mine all mine!
