I’m a little obsessed with larimar, a beautiful, sky-blue gem found only in a specific area in the Dominican Republic. It is both beautiful and rare, which means it tends to be pricey. I obtained a limited number of these little larimar nuggets, and for my By the Sea collection I have chosen to give them simple settings that allow them to show their unique beauty. In this necklace, five nuggets are strung on silver-filled wire, separated by tiny silver-filled beads. They are displayed on a cable chain that measures 24 inches in length, with a 3-inch extender chain.
Silver-filled findings are superior to silver-plated, yet far more affordable than solid sterling silver. Properly cared for, these pieces will last a generation or more.
